Intima is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
Personal Information:
- Email Address: Required for account registration and authentication.
- Date of Birth: Collected solely for age verification purposes (18+ requirement). This data is encrypted and stored with an obfuscated field name. It cannot be modified after registration.
- Account Credentials: Password (hashed by Firebase Authentication, never stored in plain text).
Usage Data:
- Chat messages sent to and received from AI characters
- Character profiles you create (name, personality, background)
- Voice recordings (processed in real-time for speech-to-text, not permanently stored)
- App usage patterns and feature interactions
Device Information:
- Device type and operating system version
- Network connectivity status
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and maintain our AI companion chat service
- Verify user age (18+) for legal compliance
- Process voice input for speech-to-text conversion
- Generate AI text and voice responses
- Detect and prevent underage usage (COPPA compliance)
- Improve app performance and user experience
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may collect information:
- Firebase (Google LLC): Authentication, cloud database, and analytics. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy
- MiniMax: AI text generation, speech-to-text, and text-to-speech services. Chat messages are processed by MiniMax to generate responses. Subject to MiniMax's Privacy Policy.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Data is stored in Firebase (Google Cloud Platform) with industry-standard encryption
- Date of birth is encrypted with AES-based encoding and stored with an obfuscated field name
- Firestore Security Rules restrict data access to authenticated document owners only
- We implement age verification and minor detection systems for compliance
While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
5. Data Retention
- Account data is retained while your account is active
- Chat history is retained until you delete it or delete your account
- Age detection audit logs are retained for compliance purposes
- You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 8)
6. Age Restriction and COPPA Compliance
Intima is strictly for users aged 18 and older. We implement multiple safeguards:
- Date of birth verification during registration
- Encrypted, immutable DOB storage
- In-chat minor keyword detection system
- Graduated response to detected underage indicators (Warning → Restrict → Suspend → Terminate)
If we discover a user is under 18, their account will be immediately terminated and all data deleted.
7. GDPR Rights (EU Users)
If you are a resident of the European Union, you have the following rights:
- Right to Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data
- Right to Data Portability: Receive your data in a structured format
- Right to Object: Object to processing of your personal data
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent at any time
8. Data Deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data through the app's Settings screen. Account deletion will:
- Delete your Firebase Authentication account
- Delete your user profile from Firestore
- Delete all characters you created
- Delete all chat messages
- This action is irreversible

9. Children's Privacy
Intima does NOT knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. Our age verification system, minor detection, and graduated response mechanism are designed to prevent underage access. If you believe a child under 18 has provided personal information to us, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete such information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
